High Tech Binders: Chief Business Developer

Road construction is responsible for over 565 kilotons of CO₂  emissions each year in the Netherlands alone, with bitumen accounting for 80% of the materials footprint. As climate targets tighten, municipalities and contractors urgently need affordable, high-performance, and scalable bio-based alternatives. 

High Tech Binders (HTB) is developing ECO-Bind,  a patented, carbon-negative, bio-based asphalt binder designed to replace fossil bitumen in road construction. Built on a biodegradable polymer derived from wastewater,  ECO-Bind delivers proven mechanical performance while drastically cutting CO₂  emissions and improving worker safety. 

ECO-Bind is a hybrid binder (30% biopolymer, 70% bitumen) that integrates seamlessly into existing asphalt plants. It delivers 30% CO₂  reduction, uses locally sourced circular feedstocks, and meets all mechanical and operational standards. 

Backed by strong IP, university validation, and industrial  partnerships  HTB is building the next generation of sustainable infrastructure materials for Europe and beyond. With an EU market exceeding €8 billion,  we’re  now preparing international pilots and scaling through a licensing and digital traceability model. 

We are looking for a Chief Business  Development  officer to complete our team. 

What you will be doing:  

• Represent HTB at key national and international events to build visibility in the sustainable infrastructure and materials sector. 
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including producers, municipalities, and research partners, through proactive communication and account management. 
• Turn market insights into strategic direction by aligning customer needs and sustainability goals with HTB’s product development. 
• Develop strategic partnerships that support  ECO-Bind’s  market adoption and global scale-up. 
• Contribute to funding efforts by assisting with grant applications and investor presentations. 

About you: 

• You bring a background in road construction or the oil & gas sector. 
• You’re  driven to push the industry toward more sustainable and future-proof solutions. 
• You’re  eager to step into a co-founder role and embrace the ownership, responsibility, and long-term commitment it requires. 
• You enjoy connecting with people and naturally build strong, lasting relationships. 
• You spot opportunities and know how to turn them into win-win outcomes for all stakeholders. 
• You currently work in a commercial, business development, innovation, or partnership-focused position. 
• You speak Dutch fluently (required).
